The Swan

.
I have an issue with that program. One the one hand, I find it so extremely superficial to have a whole persons look changed for them to have a feeling of self worth. But on the other hand, they end up so extremely HAPPY when they see themselves in the mirror, that it makes me rethink things.

Can it be compared to the good feeling when you leave the salon after finally getting a new hairstyle??

Another thing is, how after they put them through surgery after surgery, diets and extreme exercise, just so they can feel good about themselves, and while the tears of happiness are still fresh in their eyes, they tell then the equivalent of,

"Your STILL too UGLY to be in our pageant. GOODBYE LOSER!"

Does anyone else feel this way?

well .. it's not like they were choosen out of the blue .. they signed up for the show in the first place for the free ride..

a 15 minute of fame kind of thing in their case an episode .. as long as they were on tv they don't care if they qualify for the next round of the show

hmmmmm i think if you are a consenting adult and sign up for it, then you have to be responsible for all that occurs as a consequence. Theyre all "fame-whores" anyways... trying to get their 35 mins on prime time ;)

Regardless... I do think that it can make ppl feel better about themselves... but i think the counselling should be a priority before and after.

Also... i never really felt like they act surprised enough, its kinda like "ooh ok wow, i look great" and thats about it. I mean come on woman, u look attractive as opposed to resembling a chewn up ragdoll, lets see some jumping in the air.

    * apologies in advance for the graphic and harsh nature of this comment. I just felt like letting rip. That was interesting *

They all had issues !!! nothing a little mascara, gloss and therapy couldn't of solved.. but todays world ppl like quick fixes and wanna look as much as they can like any super model.. even if she were ugly.. but then again maybe it's not our cup of tea but if it makes them Happy.. then what business is it of ours to judge.. after all "BEAUTY IS IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER" right ??
(I still don't think any of them looked good though :P)

Here is what I wonder about the Swan - all of those girls get hair extensions - have you noticed? They all have luxerious, long hair. What happens 6 weeks later when all that crap starts to come out and she's left clumps of brillo-looking stuff?

Do you think that any of these girls every requests a vaginal tightening operation as part of her makeover package? (Many have problems from several pregnancies, so why not?) Howz THAT for self confident! LOL

I guess then it becomes their problem.
Good point! I doubt the producers would do it though, because you would not get visible results for extra ratings.

Maybe if they did a porn star version :P
